The purpose of this blog is to help readers improve their English which basically would be benefit more or less to Thais as it's time to get ready for the AEC in 2015. 

จุดประสงค์ของเราคือการช่วยให้ผู้อ่านได้พัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งคาดว่าจะเป็นประโยชน์ไม่มากก็น้อยต่อคนไทยบ้าง เนื่องจากว่ามันถึงเวลาที่เราควรจะเตรียมตัวเข้าสู่อาเซียนในปี 2558 นี้แล้ว

Last two years, I started teaching English to many Thais (both youths and adults) and found that we really need to focus on English more. I think that we, as Thais, learn and know a lot about English grammar and vocabulary but still there'll always be some little mistakes there. Now, we need to learn how to apply and use them correctly.

เมื่อ 2 ปีที่แล้วคนเขียนได้เริ่มเปิดสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษให้แก่คนไทยหลายๆคนทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่ และได้ค้นพบว่าเราควรจะจริงจังกับภาษาอังกฤษมากขึ้นอีก ผู้เขียนคิดว่า เราซึ่งเป็นคนไทยเรียนและรู้เรื่องไวยกรณ์และคำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษค่อนข้างมาก แต่มันก็ยังคงมีข้อผิดพลาดอยู่บ้างเล็กๆน้อยๆ ตอนนี้เราควรจะหันมามองตรงว่าจะใช้มันให้ถูกต้องอย่างไรด้วยแล้วนะคะ

Why "KraTuanG Your English"?

"KraTuanG" is my Thai nickname that 

named by my parents which means "Improve" in English. So, I match Thai and English then it becomes "KraTuanG Your English" which means "Improve Your English".

กระเตื้องเป็นชื่อเล่นของผู้เขียนที่คุณพ่อคุณแม่ตั้งให้ ซึ่งมีความหมายว่า "การพัฒนา" ในภาษาอังกฤษ ผู้เขียนจึงนำภาษาไทยกับอังกฤษมาผสมกัน กลายเป็น "กระเตื้องยัวร์อิงลิช" ซึ่งหมายความว่า "พัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษของคุณ"

This is an example that I saw from the workbook that one of Primary schools in Bangkok made it for the students themselves.

"This tire has no wind."

     English - Thai 
      wind = lom (ลม)
      air = ar-kard (อากาศ)

It's obvious that these two words have different meanings when we translate from English to Thai.  However, Thai language is a very complicated language but it's beautiful in itself, of course. Once we translate from Thai to English, you will get it wrong easily

จะเห็นได้อย่างชัดเจนว่า 2 คำนี้มีความหมายที่ต่างกันเมื่อเราแปลจากอังกฤษเป็นไทย อย่างไรก็ตามภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาที่ค่อนข้างสับสน แต่ก็สวยงามด้วยตัวของมันเอง เมื่อเราแปลจากไทยเป็นอังกฤษ อาจจะทำให้เกิดข้อผิดพลาดได้อย่างง่ายดาย

For example: Flat Tire Situation (สถานการณ์ที่ยางแบน)

To pump up, we say "term lom" (เติมลม) in Thai, which claims to be "fill wind" if we translate back to English by word. In this case, we might get confused when we translate back here and there, then it becomes as a mistake below,

เติมลมเมื่อแปลกลับเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ก็จะทำให้สับสนเนื่องจากว่า ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว เราจะเติมอากาศเข้าไปในยางนั่นเอง แต่เราจะพูดว่าภาษาไทยว่า เติมลมยาง ไม่พูดว่า เติมอากาศยาง ซึ่งต่างจากภาษาอังกฤษนะคะ ใช้ให้ถูกต้องตามด้านล่างเลยคะ

Incorrect:  This tire has no wind.
Correct:    This tire has no air.
